Review | Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't been posting that much, I'm just still at university and have had a lot going on these past couple of weeks with sorting stuff out! However, I go home this weekend, so should be posting more regularly!

So as it is coming closer to summer and it is starting to get a little warmer (little is an understatement, as here in Birmingham it has been around 26 every day for the past week!) By the way, just wanted to clarify, I'm not from Birmingham, I'm from the North East, but just go to university in Birmingham. Just in case you were reading this and going 'why is your blog called 'That Northern Lass' if you aren't from the north?' although you probably weren't and now think I'm weird...

Anyway, as it has been super sunny, yet I am super pale (sad times) I needed to try some fake tan that didn't make me look overly tanned or orange, but gave me a bit of colour. By the way, I don't mind being pale, but it was getting to the point where people were questioning if I was ill or not, and I had to reply with 'no, it's just my face'. #awks.

Plus, if you're questioning why I am reviewing this just after reviewing the St Tropez Gradual Tan (you can read my review here), it's because the gradual tan gave me a bit more colour but wasn't good for a full summer-like tan, which is what I kind of wanted. However, I'd recommend the St Tropez product for autumn/winter.

I bought this on a trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon with my boyfriend last week and have honestly used it non-stop. It was a bit pricey as it was £14.99, so didn't really agree with a student budget, but as I had just finished exams I thought that I would treat myself. Plus, the sales have just started, so it's a third off at Superdrug currently! (bit annoying as I literally bought it a day before the sales started, but ah well, it's my own fault!)

I was a tad apprehensive as I have never used a tanning foam before and seen some very bad tanning disasters, but I thought if I got it in the shade light/medium then it wouldn't be so bad if it went streaky. However, this stuff is amazing. You see the results immediately, which helped with filling in patches that you had missed. I usually keep it on for an hour or so and then shower it off, and this is enough time to leave my skin with a natural tan. Honestly, my skin actually looks naturally tanned, which is a very big thing considering other tans leave me looking orange or don't show very well. Plus, it smells of coconuts, so you also smell pretty damn good. However, after wearing it for a while, it does go back to the generic fake tan scent, but it's not as strong as other brands in my opinion.

Downfalls are that it leaves your sheets pink (I know, it's really strange), so my friends have come into my room and asked why on earth my sheets are all pink, but hey, who wants white sheets anyway? Plus, I'd rather have pink sheets than orange sheets any day, and I don't mind this as it happens with all tans.

Overall, if you are fair skinned, I would highly recommend this product, as it gives you an even tan that looks real, without making you look like you walked off the set of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's easy to apply (get your tanning mitt at the ready) and dries really quickly. Plus, I have sensitive skin, and I'm not allergic to it, so yay! However, it does cling to my eczema, but after I have washed it off in the shower, it is a lot less noticeable.

What is your favourite self-tan? I'd love to hear your recommendations in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed reading and I hope to see you soon!

Much love,

Grace x
